Storm Update - Saturday, August 10 - 9:45 AM

Richard Bycoskie

Our Refuse team is working today to collect Friday’s route. If you have not put your trash out yet, please get it out ASAP. If we are unable to go up driveways due to debris or vehicles, please bring refuse and recycling to the curb.

The Transfer Station (22401 Lake Rd) is still without power. We had two more 20-yd dumpsters delivered this morning. We will be open until 3pm today and closed tomorrow. Please limit drop off to food waste and household refuse. The dumpsters are only for Rocky River Residents.

We do not have storm debris collection taking place today or tomorrow to give our team a rest. We will continue to work 12-hour days on Monday to assist with cleanup.

The Parks Division is clearing storm debris on Wagar Rd, between Hilliard and Center Ridge, alongside line crews. Line crews are replacing the pole and replacing primary lines and service drops at this location. We expect this street to reopen later today. This is the final street closure within the community.

Power continues to be restored within Rocky River, but we unfortunately do not control the process. Mayor Bobst and members of the administration have been in constant communication with First Energy to push for power to be restored or at least better communication on a timeline. We understand the significant impact this event has had on families and businesses within the community and we have worked diligently to provide service to those things that are within our control. It has been inspiring to see neighbors come together to support each other in this difficult time and we appreciate all the support and kind words that have been directed to the Service Department and administration.

We will continue to be available for service related issues over the weekend, if you need assistance from the Service Department, please call 440-356-5630. With other assistance related questions, please contact the non-emergency Police line at 440-331-1234. If it is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Please continue to contact First Energy with power related questions and visit https://outages-oh.firstenergycorp.com/ for updates. You may also call 1-888-544-4877 or text STAT to 544487
