Storm Update - Friday, August 9th - 7:25am

Richard Bycoskie

Refuse collection is postponed one day this week. We are collecting Thursday’s route today. Friday’s route will be collected tomorrow. Please have trash out by 7am.

There will be dumpsters at the Transfer Station (22401 Lake Rd) today from 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-3pm for food waste and other household waste. Please be considerate and keep large bulk items for curbside collection. Dumpsters are available for Rocky River residents only.

Crews will continue to collect storm debris throughout the community from tree lawns today until 7pm. We will not be collecting storm debris Saturday and Sunday to give our team a rest, but will be back to 12-hour shifts on Monday.

The Parks Division is still clearing damage to tree lawn trees. If you identify any broken (especially large hanging) limbs, please contact the Service Department.

Signals are functional on Center Ridge and First Energy has stated that they will be working on the broken pole on Wagar Rd, between Hilliard and Center Ridge Rd this morning. We will provide updates as streets reopen.

The Don Umerley Civic Center, including Memorial Hall, will continue to be available as cooling and charging stations during normal business hours. Additional tables and power strips have been made available.

Shower facilities are available for anyone to use at the Civic Center during the following hours:
Monday-Thursday: 5:30am-9:00pm
Friday: 5:30am-8:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am-4:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am-4:00pm

Unfortunately, the City does not control the speed at which First Energy restores power. Please refrain from calling City Hall with outage questions so that we may better serve those who need assistance with City Services. To receive updates from First Energy, call 1-888-544-4877 or text STAT to 544487.
