LEAF COLLECTION - 2024
Richard Bycoskie
WHERE ARE WE NOW:
November 12th - Leaf Collection Update
Our crews will be working primarily in the area south of Center Ridge Road off of Spencer. We will be finishing up some of the dead end streets south of Center Ridge off of Wooster today as well.
We will be collecting leaves on the north side of Sunnyhill this morning for those with newly planted tree lines. We will be back tomorrow for the south side of the street. If you are on the north side, but do not have your leaves out for collection today please have them out by the end of day for early collection tomorrow.
Friendly reminder to please keep pumpkins, brush, and other items out of the leaf piles. Please make sure to not block leaf piles with vehicles and communicate this information to your contractors.
Thank you for your consideration and patience during our leaf collection season.
City of Rocky River bulk leaf collection will commence on Monday, November 4, 2024. Until that time, please bag leaves in yard waste bags for collection.
A friendly reminder as we progress through leaf collection season...
Leaf collection is our top priority at this time of the year, and we will continue to make every effort to keep our City looking beautiful.
During the annual Fall Leaf Collection, our Service Department and the leaf removal trucks work diligently to make one pass throughout the entire City each week, but this is not always possible. Occasional delays occur due to weather, equipment, or heavy leaf volume. Leaf collection may not coincide with the date of your refuse collection. If you wish to keep track of our daily progress, please follow the Rocky River Service Department on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/rockyriverservice
You can assist our crews in efficient leaf collection by raking leaves to the tree lawn and having piles easily accessible. Leaves should not be placed in the street because they can block sewers and create traffic hazards. Additionally, we request that cars do not block the City’s access to leaves on the tree lawn. It is important to let contractors and other visitors know that they cannot park in the street during leaf collection season. Even parking some distance away from piles may prevent the leaf trucks’ accessibility to pick up the leaves. If leaf piles are blocked, they may not be picked up until the following week.
Please put yard waste such as brush, garden items, and grass clippings in a brown bag for pickup on your regular refuse collection day. These items should not be included with your leaves, as they may cause blockages in our leaf collection equipment.
Thank you for your cooperation!
