Burglaries

Rocky River has experienced a rash of residential burglaries in the past few months and is asking residents to contact police if they see anything out of the ordinary.  The most recent have been daytime burglaries while the residents are at work.  It appears that the persons responsible are knocking on doors and if there is no answer they enter the homes by forcing windows or doors.  The items that have been stolen in these burglaries range from cash to large flat screen televisions.  As of this time we have no description of the suspects or any vehicles.  Attached is a map with dates and report numbers of the thefts.

The Rocky River Police Department is requesting your active participation in preventing any thieves from stealing your property. You are strongly urged to LOCK your vehicle(s), and please put valuables into the trunk of your locked vehicle(s) or into your homes. Lock your doors and windows, even though Rocky River is considered a safe community, criminal activity does occur.

If you see something or someone that looks suspicious, call the police. If you see someone lurking around the neighborhood, call the police. Do NOT confront the person(s), you may be putting yourself into harm's way unnecessarily.

By using your eyes and your ears, you become an extension of the police department.  Please help us help you. The police prefer to check an unusual circumstance or activity then to take a report of your property being stolen. If you see it, or hear it, then report it.

Anyone that has information on any of these burglaries, please contact the Rocky River Police at (440)-331-1234 or if an emergency call 9-1-1
